[not] your 2025 candidate for Churchlands ... Curtin?
I am Dr Nick Lethbridge.
I have lived in Churchlands for more than forty years. Our children attended Churchlands Primary then High schools before going on to study at UWA.
As a mature student I gained my MBA at UWA,
then specialised in Information Systems, with a DBA (that's the Dr) while lecturing at the Churchlands campus of ECU.
I added a Murdoch postgraduate qualification in Science and Technology Policy, for political understanding and balance.
And so, yes, I know things.
I also think ... and listen ... and take appropriate action when action is needed.
During those years living in Churchlands, I worked for major WA government corporations and for major multinational corporations.
I worked in a variety of roles -- gaining and applying experience at various levels.
It was not one year repeated over and over, but a depth of experience applied to a broad range of challenging roles.
Over time, my roles moved more and more to support for the people who need to understand and work with the increasing complexities of Information Systems.
As a volunteer I recently helped organise a "sporting" event which involved 300 people exploring our Western Suburbs. These "explorers" were searching for "treasures"... which were mostly cafes located in the suburbs between Kings Park and the Indian Ocean.
The competition is supported by a smartphone app, so it can be repeated at any time that we want tourists to explore our Churchlands electorate.
Wow! does all that experience make me seem old? well, i'm 72 and am slowing down.
I ran my first, and last, marathons in the year I turned sixty. Now I walk, slowly.
But I still think. And I am ready to act
... as the federal parliamentary representative for my home electorate of Churchlands.
Perhaps you are beginning to wonder:
Is Dr Nick an over-qualified cannabis addict hoping to get legal acceptance for his addiction?
No.
I prefer to keep my thinking fluid but clear.
Before you ask, I also do not drink alcohol. But that is the result of an unfortunate childhood incident with an over-alcoholic trifle... which forever put me off the taste of wine.
Now it is my own choice to not use.
My advice is, to not use.
But I support *your* freedom to choose.
With this caveat:
The freedom to choose
... balanced with the responsibility
... to protect against abuse.
